Tenebrae (1982)

Synopsis:

A mysterious killer seems to choose his victims in relation with a newly published book, forcing a couple of detectives to seek the help of the book’s author to elucidate the crime.

It is impossible to decide which Argento’s film is the best, but for sure Tenebrae is one of the top ones.

As in most Argento, the movie is a hunt for an unknown killer and again, you’ll spend the all movie trying to figure out who the killer is. Probably Tenebrae is the most convoluted and complex of all Argento’s film. The movie does a superb job at giving you fake hints and as soon as you think that someone is the killer, the movie moves on and that person gets killed.

As for most Argento’s film, Tenebrae is gore and visually really impressive and the movie features a couple of very cool kills such as the one with the axe or the pursuits with the dog. As if it wasn’t enough praises, the film ending is fantastic, worthy of some of the best psychological thriller and crime movies.

Overall one of Argento’s best movie, I would indeed recommend it to every horror fans.
